The Bibas family is being used as psychological warfare against us

ATTENTION: Don’t allow your kindness to be used to hurt us more than we are already hurt. Our enemies have had too many victories over us, we cannot allow them this one too.

The Bibas family is being used as psychological warfare against us

Awareness and grounding is crucial in making sure the enemy cannot hurt us more than they already have on the backs of this precious family.

On October 7th we were all horrified by the images of Shiri Bibas being taken hostage with her two babies, Kfir and Ariel, in her arms.

We all identified with the look of terror in her eyes. With the responsibility of a mother trying to defend her babies.

Her husband, Yarden was taken hostage separately. An entire family, captured by monsters.

When the IDF found footage of Shiri, wrapped in a blanket or carpet but obviously still carrying the children, walking into the compound where her captors took them, it was another punch in the gut. It is hard to carry two small children for so long. How would it be possible to keep them calm?

What happened to them after they exited the frame? There was no information after that, leaving the entire nation to worry and wonder.

Our hearts skipped a beat when we saw orange haired babies. Some of us found ourselves helplessly crying for them. Others couldn’t ignore the irony of the orange that became a symbol for the children was the same shade of orange used to warn that the Disengagement from Gaza would end up in death and destruction….

And then in one of the most extreme acts of cruelty we witnessed in this war, Hamas released a hostage video of Yarden Bibas. Right before the monsters began filming they told him that his wife and babies had been killed and that he should beg our Prime Minster to make sure he gets to see them buried in Israel.

We don’t know if Hamas was telling the truth or lying simply for the sake of being cruel. As far as I know, no proof was provided of their deaths.

And the Bibas family asked us not to speculate because they need to hold on to hope.

Now however hype over information about the family, getting expectations up, is likely to crush the minds and hearts of good people who cannot comprehend this level of evil.

And that is something we cannot allow. The enemy has had enough victories over us. We are broken and having enough trouble breathing. We cannot allow our caring to allow them to injure us more.

Logic tells us that a mother with two babies would be the first hostages to be returned – if they were alive.

Hope prays for a surprise. Perhaps the enemy lied, just for the sake of cruelty. It’s possible. But not likely.

My request is the same as that of the Bibas family. Wait. Don’t speculate. Don’t allow your heart to be used against you.

  1. It is psychological warfare that Hamas is waging. Waiting for Israel to be demonized in the rest of the world, Hamas has no limitations in their provocations. The Bibas babies are in the hearts of most Jews, and we all cry for them.

Hamas welcomes their own being killed. The idea of becoming a Shahid is foreign to the Western mind, but fully understood in the Islamic one. We should never forget that Muslims believe they are superior people to non-believers. They provoke, and when retaliation comes, they become “the victim.”

And Muslims know the value the West puts on their children. This is the emotion they are looking for when they tease us with pictures of these kids. And, we know they are evil enough that on Oct. 7, they slaughtered children, along with their parents. That let us know that their idea of mercy does not extend to Jews.
