Titi Aynaw, 21 yrs old was chosen Miss Israel 2013 on Wednesday night — the first Ethiopian-born contestant to win the title.
Titi made aliyah to Israel after her parents died, when she was just 12 years old. She served as an officer in the IDF, proving that she’s not “just” a pretty face.
Aside from being prettier than all the other candidates, in my opinion, Titi’s spirit makes her an excellent choice as a representative of Israel. She has overcome adversity and by the strength of her own will-power (no hand-outs from anyone) placed herself influential roles in Israeli society – first in the army and now as Miss Israel.
Hers is a story of success against all odds, of winning by sheer tenacity – and skill.
How very Israeli.
She is gorgeous!
